About the Position:
Information Technology continuously strives to produce a higher quality of services designed to meet the expectations of the campus community. We provide a leading-edge technology environment for students, faculty and staff to advance the University's mission, vision and goals. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Information Technology Consultant-Foundation. The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

The Information Technology Consultant works directly with and under the supervision of the Director of Technical Operations for User Support Services. Provides consultative help desk computing support to the campus community through the Help Desk phones, email, chat and in-person. Provides desktop support to users for complex hardware and software problems via phone, email and in person on Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, iOS and Android OS. Ensures computer labs are setup and tests new technologies. Provides technical computing support and resolution to faculty, staff, and students over the phone, email, chat and in person. Enforces lab policies and guidelines. Provides assistance on the use of laser and wireless printing for lab and laptop users. Provides assistance with services provided by the Student Genius Center and Advanced Technology Lab. Assists with device deployment for Device Request. Makes and deploys images for both Mac and PC for both SGC & ATL computer labs and laptops, and Device Request labs. Leads, assists and mentors student assistants. Creates reports and updates website. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Telecommunications, Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related field or four years relevant full-time experience or an associates degree in a related field with two years of relevant full-time experience.

Basic knowledge of the specialty work area demonstrated by an understanding and use of general principals and terminology. Demonstrated understanding of the standard technology and systems in place with the capability of supporting and operating the technology. Ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes, and refer to appropriate party for resolution. Ability to solve problems where precedents exist, and acquire knowledge in related specialties. Demonstrated ability to work as a team member. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
