Senior Analyst, Data and Analytics Group - Office of Advancement - Georgetown University

The Senior Analyst is a key member of the Office of Advancement's Analytics & Business Intelligence team. The Senior Analyst works consultatively on projects utilizing data to aid strategic and tactical decisions, providing accurate, timely and comprehensive analysis and information. In addition, the Senior Analyst must demonstrate advanced knowledge of fundraising fundamentals, strategies, and trends in philanthropy and data analysis. The Senior Analyst is expected to have a strong background and significant experience in applying data science and/or statistics skills to real-world challenges.

This position impacts the most significant aspect of Advancement operations - the management of the major gift pipeline and the teams that support this work. In this capacity, the Senior Analyst is responsible for working consultatively on descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analyses that support Advancement's work in managing key performance indicators and measuring outcomes for our $3B fundraising campaign. The Senior Analyst will also play a role in designing new features and functions that advance efforts to become a more data-informed organization in Georgetown's Salesforce CRM, GU360.

The Senior Analyst reports to the Director of the Analytics & Business Intelligence team. This position will partner with the Development and Campaign Operations teams and Advancement leadership on matters pertaining to pipeline management, goals and performance management, and financial forecasts. This position is accountable for providing service and information across the organization.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors' degree in statistics/mathematics or equivalent field
  • Minimum of one to two years of development, fundraising, market research, prospect research, or other equivalent experience leveraging applied data analysis
  • Self-starter and ready to make an impact in a mission-driven environment
  • Excited by data and the challenge of helping a large organization become more data-driven
  • Highly organized, independent, and motivated by achieving milestones
  • Strong communicator and ability to adapt to meet the needs and expectations of managing relationships with executives, frontline staff, and everyone in-between
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Demonstrate the capability to work with diverse data features as a tool to help make teammates' work easier & more efficient
  • Proven analytical skills emphasizing the ability to gather, clean, evaluate and synthesize various types of data
  • Experience and/or knowledge of specialized data sources relevant to fundraising - such as iWave PRO or WealthEngine
  • Ability to read, interpret, and mine financial and SEC documents and data
  • Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and required proficiency in statistical concepts, data visualization, and/or analysis tools and languages (Tableau, R, Python, SQL)
  • Strong information presentation skills, both in writing and in visuals (Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Practical experience working with the Salesforce platform and/or APEX preferred.
