Job Description:
Madison College is hiring a full-time (40 hours per week/38 weeks per year) position of Lab Coordinator supporting our Architectural Technology and Interior Design program and classes. This position ensures effective day-to-day operation of instructional laboratory spaces. Responsibilities include managing lab equipment, coordinating lab activities, supporting faculty and students, maintaining safety compliance, and overseeing inventory and procurement. The role directly supports hands-on learning by creating well-maintained, safe, and accessible lab environments. Position Details: This position generally works during the academic year (38, nonconsecutive weeks). This position is considered full-time with excellent full time benefits including health/vision/dental/life insurance options and participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS).
General working hours are 8:00-4:30, M-F with some evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities:
Laboratory and Classroom Support
- Assemble, prepare, and arrange required materials, models, and equipment for student and faculty use
- Maintain and organize classrooms, laboratories, and storage areas in a neat and orderly fashion
- Address student issues as they arise in laboratory settings
Technical Support and Troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot software, computers, and other equipment
- Assist in submitting and following up on IT help desk tickets
- Populate and maintain TV monitors with approved college and program-specific content
- Provide event troubleshooting support to ensure successful completion of events
Inventory and Procurement Management
- Monitor inventory and supplies for both programs
- Support the procurement process of goods, services, and materials
- Research, order, and stock inventory and supplies needed in the programs
- Distribute and dispense supplies and equipment for student laboratory use
Event Coordination
- Coordinate events for both programs including portfolio shows, career days, and student mixers
- Set dates, times, and manage marketing efforts (including social media)
- Collaborate with campus events team and off-campus entities
- Ensure successful completion of all program events
- Coordinate catering orders for on-site events
- Coordinate advisory board meeting details and logistics
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of (or ability to quickly learn) laboratory operations, equipment maintenance and safety procedures.
- Knowledge of (or ability to quickly learn) inventory management, procurement processes and budget oversight.
- Skills allowing troubleshooting, maintaining and coordinating repairs of lab equipment.
- Ability to develop and implement lab procedures, safety protocols and operational guidelines.
- Ability to apply subject matter knowledge relevant to the laboratory setting appropriately.
- Skill in engaging positively with all populations and communities, contributing to a safe and inclusive learning and work environment.
- Skill in effectively and respectfully communicating with others.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate degree or higher.
- 1 - 3+ years of relevant work experience.
