Job Description
The HR Assistant is responsible for providing outstanding customer service to all levels across the UT System, managing compensation and DASH position maintenance requests, maintaining departmental workflows and email communications, performing data entry in DASH, and supporting a variety of general HR functions.


Responsibilities
Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Customer Service
  • Provide prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable customer service to employees, leaders, and compensation partners across the UT System.
  • Maintain and monitor departmental workflow and shared email inbox, ensuring timely responses and resolution of inquiries.

Guidance and Support
  • Provides guidance to departments on how to accomplish position set up for their desired outcome.
  • Understands different types of positions and applies best practices and knowledge base to set up positions correctly.
  • Troubleshoots issues and errors with departments, bringing issues and potential explanations/solutions to manager.
  • Provide work direction to student assistants/interns.

Documentation and Training
  • Creates help documentation/training on position changes and Compensation HUB content.
  • Assists with edits and updates on UT HUB and UT System websites.

Data Management and Integrity
  • Process and track compensation and DASH position maintenance requests with accuracy and efficiency, while maintaining data integrity by reviewing and correcting errors.
  • Maintains UT System HR department file structures in OneDrive and Teams.

Process Improvement and Collaboration
  • Collaborate with HR team members to improve processes and ensure compliance with university policies and procedures.
  • Provide position data/workflow expertise/knowledge on DASH related projects.

Qualifications
Associates degree plus applicable HR experience to be gained on the job or as part of an internship experience or, two years of office or administrative experience that included HR responsibilities, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working in Microsoft applications (word, excel, teams, etc.)

Additional skills, experiences, and qualifications include:
  • Strong customer service and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • High attention to detail and organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to learn new software and advance existing software skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to perform research and offer effective recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree. PHR, SHRM-CP or CCP Certification. Experience in a human resources setting. Experience working in higher education. Experience entering data into an HRIS system.

Additional skills, experiences, and qualifications include:
  • Knowledge of human resources practices, principles and applicable federal/state laws/regulations.
  • Basic knowledge of HRIS platforms.

Benefits and Compensation

Compensation for the position is budgeted for $24.04 - $26.44 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
