THIS IS A GRANT-FUNDED POSITION FUNDED UNTIL JUNE 30, 2028

JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI), the Research Technician 2 assists in stem cell research, with a focus on both dental and cardiac applications, while adhering to well-defined research guidelines.


Responsibilities
  1. Aids in generating and maintaining induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) from human somatic cells including urinary epithelial cells and dental cells.
  2. Performs specialized experiments in molecular biology and epigenetic studies.
  3. Differentiation of iPSCs into mesenchymal stem cells and other cell lineages including detail progenitor cells.
  4. Performs small animal experiments.
  5. Assists in data analysis and scientific presentations.
  6. Assists the PI in summarizing, analyzing, and organizing research data for publications.
  7. Provides instructions and training to interns, residents and fellows.
  8. Designs and implement research protocols.
  9. Provides recommendations for purchasing lab supplies necessary for ongoing research projects, under the direction of the PI.
  10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Science or a related field. (Master's Degree preferred.) (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

EXPERIENCE: OR a combination of college coursework and work experience to equal four (4) years.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow directions on experimental protocols or requests from the PI.
  • Ability to identify gene expressions.

WORK SCHEDULE: This position may occasionally be required to work weekends and evenings.
