Job Summary:

The eXtraOrdinarY Kids Team is seeking a highly motivated Senior Clinical Research Services Professional to lead and support a diverse portfolio of investigator-initiated clinical research studies focused on children and adolescents with sex chromosome aneuploidies and related conditions. This senior role integrates clinical research coordination, regulatory oversight, data management, and scientific writing within a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment. The ideal candidate will bring advanced experience in human subjects research, a strong commitment to participant-centered care, and the ability to independently manage complex studies while mentoring junior staff and contributing to the team's broader mission of improving outcomes through innovative, translational research.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Research Coordination (30%)

• Serve as senior study coordinator for multiple investigator-led clinical research studies, including tracking milestone progress.

Lead subject recruitment efforts, including preparing recruitment materials, identifying eligible patients, and conducting informed consent.

Schedule and conduct virtual and in-person study visits according to study protocol, including anthropometrics, standardized assessments, ancillary service coordination, and biospecimen collection.

Coordinate and manage wearable devices, including distribution, data downloads, and diary monitoring.

• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, GCP, and institutional policies.

Regulatory (15%)

• Draft and revise study documents, including protocols, consent forms, case report forms, and IRB applications, amendments, and continuing reviews.
• Maintain electronic regulatory binders.
• Support study start-up and close out, including all institutional requirements for conducting human subjects research.
• Register and/or maintain studies on clinicaltrials.gov.

Data Management (15%)

Collect, code, and analyze data obtained from research in an accurate and timely manner.

• Develop, manage, and maintain REDCap databases, including instrument creation, data entry, validation, cleaning, and report generation.
• Collaborate with statisticians and research teams on data cleaning and analysis.

Scientific Writing (15%)

Draft and review abstracts, posters, and manuscripts.

• Copyediting and ensuring compliance with submission guidelines.
• Support grant proposals, including drafting human subjects sections, recruitment plans, budget justifications, Just-in-Time documentation, and annual reports.

Mentorship & Supervision (15%)

Oversee student research assistants, including onboarding, training, task management, and feedback.

• Assist with the orientation and training of new team members.
• Oversee and provide informal leadership to the team members, including managing day-to-day priorities, evaluating and redistributing workloads on a temporary basis, and mentoring junior staff.
• Organize and lead study team meetings.

Community Engagement (10%)

• Maintain and update the team website with publications, team updates, and announcements.
• Engage with patient advocacy organizations to support participant-centered research.
• Translate scientific work into materials digestible for lay audiences.
• Attend applicable community events, as needed.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in science or a health-related field.

Two (2) years of clinical research experience.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship. We are unable to provide work visa sponsorship or employment authorization for this position now or in the future.

Conditions of Employment:

Must be willing and able to pass national criminal and sex offender background checks

Must successfully pass a 10-panel drug screen through Children's Hospital Colorado

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in a health sciences-related field.

Five (5) years of clinical research or related experience.

Experience with scientific writing (e.g., grant and manuscript preparation).

Experience with data analysis and visualization.

One (1) year project or program development, management, and/or evaluation in a clinical and/or research domain.

Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g., EHR and data management systems).

Experience with managing institutional review board submissions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to engage effectively with participants, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, professionalism, and ethical conduct in research.

Knowledge of ethical research practices, including Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and federal guidelines.

Ability to coordinate study visits, biospecimen handling, and logistics efficiently while working collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams.

Ability to interpret and implement complex research protocols accurately.

Ability to achieve proficiency with electronic data capture systems (e.g., REDCap, OnCore) and EHR systems (e.g., EPIC).

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple studies, tasks, and deadlines.

Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to anticipate issues to keep studies on track.

Adaptable and flexible in a dynamic, multi-site research environment, with a strong desire to learn, grow, and excel.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $35,223 to $47,199 (calculated for 0.6 FTE).

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
